IBFM Spotlight:

FIRST STEPS TO FULL CIRCLE

Behind every successful company are stories of individuals who embody its spirit of dedication and perseverance. At InsBOSS, one such story begins with an intern, a laptop, and a determination to grow.

When most students search for an internship, they hope to find a company that offers experience. Few expect to find a second home. But for one InsBOSS team member, that’s exactly what happened. What started as a simple Google search turned into a professional journey filled with growth and moments of quiet triumph.

From an intern to an HR Generalist, Lance Kenneth Garcia’s story is more than just a career progression. It’s a reflection of what happens when a company chooses to invest in people as much as in performance.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT

While searching for a place to complete his OJT requirements during his final year in college, he stumbled upon InsBOSS. “After searching for a company for my industrial internship, the first thing that caught my attention was InsBOSS’s well-developed website. What also stood out were the company’s accolades and client testimonials, which gave me a clear picture of the scope of its operations,” Lance mentioned. At that moment, he decided to give it a shot and pursue his internship with InsBOSS.

Upon the start of his internship program, he was assigned to the Talent Acquisition (TA) Team. He shared that one of his memorable and valuable tasks was analyzing the applicants’ curriculum vitae. This experience helped him improve his ability to evaluate various factors and present his insights more effectively. There was also a time when he felt immense pressure while assisting in the facilitation of assessments for the applicants. However, he didn’t let it faze him as he learned how to stay composed under pressure and manage responsibilities in a high-stakes environment.

Aside from understanding the role and responsibilities of the TA Team, he witnessed a culture of genuine care and camaraderie. “They didn’t just treat us like interns,” he recalls. “They treated us like part of the team from day one.” He also saw the connection built by the team with the aspiring applicants, how they exhibited empathy and respect in every conversation. That alone left a lasting impression on Lance, solidifying his decision to apply for a full-time role right after graduation.

AN UNEXPECTED TURN, A NEW PATH

Life had other plans for Lance. He expected to reunite with the TA Team after passing the hiring process, but was instead placed in the HR Operations team as an HR Generalist. It wasn’t what he anticipated, but it turned out to be the best kind of surprise.

The work was different, more technical, more multifaceted. It taught him how to think critically and stay composed under pressure. Other than the shift in tasks, what surprised Lance the most when he transitioned from an intern to a full-time IBFM was the scale of InsBOSS’s operations.

Reviewing internal trackers and seeing the wide network of IBFMs gave him a newfound respect for the company’s reach and impact.

It wasn’t just the structure that impressed Lance, it was the culture. InsBOSS wasn’t just a company that hired him. It became a place that nurtured his growth, professionally and personally. He credits the company’s values of genuine care and genuine excellence as the foundations for his development. “The freedom it fosters allows me to explore different approaches to handling tasks and challenges, supporting my growth as I work toward becoming a better version of myself,” he shared.

His proudest milestone was facilitating his first HR Orientation. As someone who identified as introverted, the thought of speaking in front of a group is nerve-wracking. However, he faced the challenge head-on and came out stronger. That experience helped him build the confidence he now brings into every new hire session and team interaction.

As a full-time member of the HR Operations team, he often finds himself working alongside the mentors who once trained him. Leaders like the Sr. HR Manager, Anton Fabico, and the previous TA Team Lead and now Legal Compliance Manager, Atty. Fiddo Waggay III offered guidance and wisdom that goes beyond their roles in the company. He mentioned that their mentorship shaped how he carries himself personally and professionally.

A CULTURE THAT BUILDS PEOPLE
As he reflected on how far he’s come and why he chose to stay with the organization, he credits his early exposure to the culture here at InsBOSS. “At InsBOSS, we IBFMs genuinely care for one another and work together toward both our personal and shared goals as an organization,” Lance mentioned. This gave him a strong foundation for understanding how to approach challenges with empathy and genuine care. Another reason he gave for staying was the team he belongs to—the HR team. “From our healthy team dynamics to the strong bond we’ve built, it’s a connection I will always treasure. We support each other not just professionally, but personally as well, making work feel meaningful.”

When asked to describe his journey in one word, he answers without hesitation: Fulfillment. Not the kind that comes from promotions or praise, but the one from making meaningful contributions and growing every single day. “There’s always a sense of purpose in the work we do,” he shared. “For me, that sense of fulfillment is a powerful driving force that motivates me to keep pushing forward and striving to do better every day.”

In this story, we see not just one person’s transformation. We see what happens when dedication meets opportunity and growth meets encouragement. Lance’s journey from an intern to a full-time HR Generalist captures the essence of what InsBOSS is. A company where perseverance is valued, potential is cultivated, and every individual is empowered to thrive. His experience serves as a powerful reminder that with the right environment and unwavering perseverance, remarkable growth is inevitable. And at InsBOSS, it isn’t just possible but encouraged every step of the way.
